Nutrition has a great impact on our mental and physical performance . The right nutrition creates conditions for optimum performance and maximum performance development.

A proper nutrition gives us fuel for the nervous system and muscles before and during exercise. A proper nutrition can also promote optimal and rapid recovery after exercise.

Specific nutritional strategies make it possible to optimize the physiological adaptations to training. This will in the long run lead to maximum development of performance. A good diet is also important to minimize the risk of illness and injury.

There exists no standard diet that can be recommended to all athletes but diet must be individualized and periodized according to the volume, type, and the goals of training.

New research and findings and increases our understanding of how nutrition affects exercise performance and how nutritional strategies can be used to optimize performance.

Unfortunately it is difficult for a layperson to determine which methods are effective and safe. Expert advice may therefore be needed.
